Sometime We are facing a strange issue on saving the DCR, user changes are not reflecting in physical xml (DCR) file but the changes are appearing in the GUI(DCR Forms). While deploying file, the changes are not reflecting in the application due to this issue.

Environment Details:
Server: Windows 2003
Version: Interwoven TeamSite 6.7.1 Service Pack 1 Patch 73875

Does it happen to some user or all the users?

In DCT check out the JavaScript/FormAPI code. Is there some manipulation on save event?

Also check out the log files.

Are you seeing any JS errors? Try looking at the "error console" in firefox to see if there are any JS errors. Also when you hit save in the DCR, in the bottom left corner you should get some sort of saving message -- probably something like "saving DCR ..." with a little animated wheel type of graphic. Please make sure that is not hanging forever and eventually it goes away before you close the browser.

The issue we are facing infrequently.
The issue is
Edit the form and change some value. Close the form. And edit/open it again. The changes are available in UI. But the changes are not reflected in the physical xml file.

Additional Info:
No Save manipulation event implemented. Directly we are setting the DCR name to the Form.

Its happening most of the users at infrequently.

Are you sure that you are looking at the right DCR XML in the file system when you examine the actual XML? Are you sure you dont have two similar workareas or perhaps you are not looking into Staging or something like that? If you see it in UI when you edit the DCR, then the updated values are stored somewhere.

I am sure I am checking the right place on Work area. Even this problem is happening for some time for some user (ie) once in a while.

But most of our user had experience on this strange issue at diff time.

Sounds like some browser / environment issue. Are you using any Ektron VFE in the DCT? If yes, have you verified that you have the correct Java version on the client machines? Also if there are no other obvious JS errors that you see when the DCR loads then you should probably open up a support case.

Thanks for the reply.

We are using IE7. DCR configured to TinyMCE editor. No other JS error we are getting on save event.

We already raised the case for this. We are awaiting for the reply from Autonomy Support.

We had faced this issue some time back. But it got resolved automatically. For us, it looked like some caching issue but I'm not sure. If you get some resolution for this, do share it with everybody.

Yes you are absolutely correct. Its IIS server caching issue.
