Gettiing post request data through External or Controller

We want to integrate a third party tool for our site, we are hitting a url having some parameters to a third party server.They do some processing in their server and will return a post request (containing the data for the status of the operation )to our server. We want to read this request and do further processing.We tried by using external and controller.But unfortunately it is not working.

URL is like this : http://xxxxx/girltalkadmin/TestServlet?
uid=neeta&gurl=http://indvk9jb21/iw/cci/meta/no-injection/iw-mount/default
/main/ProcterGamble/WORKAREA/bgGlobal/sites/fr_FR/me2.page?&
skipintro=true&language=FRENCH

Please see the "gurl" parameter of the url.The third party server sends request back to this url.In our case "me2.page" having an external is the target url for third party server.But we are not getting the request data using both external and controller.Is there any other solution for this kind of integration.Our version is TS version - Interwoven TeamSite 6.7.1 Service Pack 1
LS Version - 3.0.2.0.68986

I'm not sure I understand your question. If you set up your external with parameters, e.g. <External><Parameters><Datum ... /></Parameters></External>, then you should be able to POST values back to the page and pick them up from your component's external code.

What "request data" are you expecting from the remote servlet? Also, you might want to URL-encode the gurl value, because the "?" and other characters could mess up your remote servlet request.

Thanks for your reply.I tried using external having parameters but it is not working.Not getting the POST values in the component's external code.

I will explain my scenario.The third party tool is creating the "avatar" for the users in our site.We are hitting the third party url for this avatar creation. In their server they create the image and sent us the path of that image as POST request ,back to your server.From our side we read that image using that url.

I hope u understood your scenario. May i know did u done this kind of integration? Can you give me any other suggestion for solving this issue.
