Y Drive disappeared !!! Urgent help needed !!!

Hello,

We have an urgent problem with our TeamSite Server. The Y drive disappeared and is not coming back. Even after a Restart of the Teamsite services and after a whole server reboot :-(

First the specs of our Server:
Windows 2000 SP3
Teamsite 6.0.0

I found some error messages inside the iwtrace.log which are suspicious:
Mon Sep 15 13:18:45 2008] Trying to delete non-existent vnode 0x87210f48

This one comes up quite often since this morning.

[Mon Sep 15 16:15:54 2008]: ERROR: TVolume: Smiley Surprised

pen - Can't open The system cannot find the file specified.
[Mon Sep 15 16:15:54 2008]: ERROR: DrvUnMountDevice - Open volume failed The system cannot find the file specified.

these two only came up after I tried to reboot the TS Services.

The Teamsite-Service is normally shutting down at 8 pm and is coming up at 7 am. This is a scheduled task, because we run backup-pc during the night.

I hope someone could help us, because this is a production server :-/

Where is the iw-store ? Check the iw.cfg to see where TS is looking. You may need ot run iwfsck on it (but do not repair anything unless IWOV support tells you)

I second Nipper's advice - get a call into Support and run "iwfsck -d" (with the output redirected into a log file) as soon as possible - it sounds like there might be a problem with your backing store or something else that could prove "bad".

Since it may take some time to fix your backing store - if possible!

Speak to the backup guys and ask for a restore of the iw-store into a different directory.

Is the iw-store on a local hard disk to the server or some sort of network storage?

check for Interwoven services,sometimes on reboot some services don't start automatically.this was the case once happened to us.

Also check for low disk space,it may be a cause.

Thanks for your answers.. We found the issue and fixed it

The problem was inside the Windows 2000 registry. Windows had an obsolete entry inside the drive mount table. and blocked Teamsite to mount the Y drive.

If someone got the same problem, you have to delete the following entry including the subentries and restart the Server (the whole machine):
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MountPoints\Y]
