WEM 8.5 Time to publish a page

Victor_Prasad

Hello,

What affects the publishing time from the preview server to live server?

Does the number of changes per page make a difference? Being text or image - does that matter?

Right now, the item is approved, the dynamic cache is cleared, then publish is hit.

Ultimately I am seeking to find out how long it takes to publish and item from preview to live.

Any help?

Thanks,

Yes, the size of the publishing job can be a factor (a job with large media takes longer). But you can get a very good details by looking at the Job Console to determine when the Job was started and when it was completed (then subtract to find total time).

There are ways to improve the speed at which publishing jobs are completed: increasing resources such as connection pooling, java heap, etc. can improve slow publishing scenarios.

Thanks for the advice.

Based on your experience if you made a spelling correction and published it - just one work - how long would that take you in your production environment?
