CreateProcessAsUser failure while running sample external task

I am running External task in workflow which calls sample_external_task.ipl but when i start te workflow, the IPL file doesnt exceute.I checked the logs and iwtrace.log states :-

[Fri Jun 05 14:57:30 2009] Execution of command C:\PROGRA~1\INTERW~1\TeamSite\local\config\wft\examples\sample_external_task2.ipl failed (Error: 2000004) for user: system10\synteladmin

while iwutild.log states :-

[Fri Jun 05 15:01:31 2009] Error: CreateProcessAsUser failure user=system10\synteladmin; argcount=3; errCode=193; cmd=C:\PROGRA~1\INTERW~1\TeamSite\local\config\wft\examples\sample_external_task2.ipl 10693 10695 "\default\main\ASGPortal\COE\SharePoint\About\WORKAREA\About_workarea"

Please help where i am going wrong....

For the external tasks to run without impersonation you have to set into

iw.cfg

file:

[authentication]
disable_ext_task_impersonation=true

From what you posted - it looks like you're trying to run your perl scripts on Windows without explicitly providing the iwperl engine.

On Windows you need to do something like:

command="C:\PROGRA~1\INTERW~1\TeamSite\iw-perl\bin\iwperl C:\PROGRA~1\INTERW~1\TeamSite\local\config\wft\examples\sample_external_task2.ipl"

Note also - that installing TeamSite in Program Files is generally a bad idea - the space in the directory name ("Program Files") tends to cause lots of problems.

If this is a recent installation - I'd recommend uninstalling and re-installing in either something like C:\iw-home or C:\Interwoven\TeamSite. It may seem silly to do so - but once you've spent a week trying to debug a problem that resulted solely because of that stupid path - you'll tend to think otherwise.
