Installing WEM using sql server

I am trying to install WEM using SQL Server 2008 R2. I have set up the jdbcXA driver as per the instructions and have created the user and database as per the installation guide but upon trying to create test a connection to the DB I get the error "failed to create DataSource: vignette.jdbc.TestDataSource". I have provided my vgnsetup.log file.

Hi Suhail, sorry for delay in responding! The error is result of not having XA enabled on SQL Server.

Please see the following url for enableing XA on windows 2008.

Also please make sure restart the SQL server after dropping dll file there.

You should also find a readme in the installation of WEM that has some details on this.

There should be a script on the installation folder that will set this up and test: vgnjdbcXA.sql

Thanks Evan! Your advice did fix my error. I just had to enable XA tranactions, It did not require following the entire instructions with regard to installing oracle9i client and editing registery.

good to hear. yes, the tech pubs are more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules. :-) Best to use the field guides (I'll create a field guide for SQL Server and let you know when it's published).
