A date new replicant added to dcr

Hi all,
I want to add a date that a new replicant was added to the dcr. I have written a callout that does this but I don't want to change the create date of the other replicants. I guess that means passing the value from the dcr to the callout if it has a value then it should not be changed if it doesn't then it must be a new edition
