Tempo Social Feeds

Uldis

We have Tempo Social 851. There is some weird problem with Feeds. We get error message -

Failed

We didn't have this error before. Just showed up, i think this is because of some post that spoils the whole list.
In mobile Tempo Social application feeds are loaded fine.

Any idea?

Thanks

Uldis

Hi Uldis,

I don't have any suggestions on what may be causing the issue so I would recommend that you submit a ticket with Support if you have not done so already.

Hi,

Problem is that we have some issues with support for portal at the moment. Hoped to get some clues in the forum for sooner solution...

Hi,

Did you create a file library which mapped to CS ? can you check if any of the filename causing the activity feed broken ? we have a similar Jira on this but it was closed as can’t reproduce https://jira.opentext.com/browse/COLLAB-28201

Murthy

We don't have file library with CS.

I believe this is only connected to what people post within a feed. Could be even because of pictures being posted, not sure.

I was thinking about possible way to check out which post exactly makes feed list corrupted, but don't know where to start

Hi,

Is there any way to figure out from when the feed is not working and what data is causing this ? @naga/Ramya can we check this from the database?

Murthy

well that is exactly my question..

not sure where to look in db and how to reproduce the issue by myself (outside portlet)

i'm not sure since when the feed is not working...

Also it works within mobile Tempo Social app..

Hi again

I've found out that the Feeds throw XML parsing error when there are some posts containing weird characters like in example below -

Prisen vår:) gratulerer alle sammen

user error?!

Blir det opprykk i år?

Viewing html source on of them was this character -

Data is comming from Collab tables like - iks_Comment,iks_HTMLDocument

If I go to Collab admin backend and manually update record then all works fine UNTIL next weird post..

Any options I can fix this myself?

Thanks

Uldis

HiQA will try to reproduce i.e Activity feed will break , if we post status at the sit level , which contains the below content like << ,Prisen vår:) gratulerer alle samme, user error?!,Blir det opprykk i år? did you enable antisamy? which version of Tempo Social you are using ?in any case feed should not be broken ,i believe there is a Jira which is already raised and closed as can't reproduce which we need to reopen .Regards,Murthy________________________________________From: eLink Entry: OpenText Portal Forum [vignetteportal@elinkkc.opentext.com]Sent: Wednesday, November 26, 2014 7:22 PMTo: eLink RecipientSubject: RE RE Tempo Social FeedsRE RE Tempo Social Feeds<https://knowledge.opentext.com/knowledge/cs.dll/open/56215177> Posted by uldis@contesto.no (Silovs, Uldis) On 11/26/2014 08:48 AMHi againI've found out that the Feeds throw XML parsing error when there are some posts containing weird characters like in example below -<<Prisen vår:) gratulerer alle sammen user error?! Blir det opprykk i år? >>Viewing html source on of them was this character - Data is comming from Collab tables like - iks_Comment,iks_HTMLDocumentIf I go to Collab admin backend and manually update record then all works fine UNTIL next weird post..Any options I can fix this myself?ThanksUldis________________________________[To post a comment, use the normal reply function]Topic: Tempo Social FeedsForum: OpenText Portal ForumContent Server: Knowledge Center

You can add these characters to ‘bad’ words filter at a site level… (using delete bad words workflow). Or use regular expressions filter in blacklist.xml (or site-level filter) to match this and other similar weird characters…

Evan, Sounds interesting but do you have more details on how to do this? Is there manual or example?

Also I'm wondering how to cover all possible symbols..

Thanks

Uldis

Venkatasatyanarayana Chirravuri

You can go through the Tempo Social Administration Guide which covers the bad word filtering feature .Regards,Murthy________________________________________ From: eLink Entry: OpenText Portal Forum [vignetteportal@elinkkc.opentext.com]Sent: Wednesday, November 26, 2014 7:57 PMTo: eLink RecipientSubject: Re RE RE Tempo Social FeedsRe RE RE Tempo Social Feeds Posted by uldis@contesto.no (Silovs, Uldis) On 11/26/2014 09:21 AMEvan, Sounds interesting but do you have more details on how to do this? Try adding following text

Prisen vår:) gratulerer alle sammen

user error?!

Blir det opprykk i år?

user error?!

We're on 8.5.1

Uldis

Hi,

I don't believe that adding single character to bad list will solve the problem in general.

I don't know all possible characters..

I'm just wondering why isn't this solved in more generic way - parsing the feed xml
