How to create dropdown menu

I can make multiple choice selection by using "select" tag in an item. But this will just make it all the options appear on the screen. How can I make it dropdown menu ? So that arrow can be clicked to dropdown the menu and selection can be made from there ?

It is unclear what you are asking.
Are you talking about very basic HTML form coding (that you could find information about in vast quantities on the internet) such as setting the

size

attribute of a

select

element to

"1"

in order to make it a singe-select drop-down menu item - or are you talking about trying to make a multi-select item appear in the form of a drop-down menu?

The former, as I said is trivial. The latter would be a gross mistake in terms of user-interface design.

I could make it dropdown successfully. Now how to define behaviour of the option. I just entered a label for the option say 2 seconds. So the behaviour should be such that after 2 seconds, existing image on the page should move and next image shd be displayed.
I can write anything in label fiels, how to make sure that it bejaves that way ?

I took a guess that he was using a template select list (form or WFM). If you do not allow multiple selections then it shows a single entry as a pulldown, if you allow multiple it shows some number of entries and you pick and choose.

Was the guess right ? After reading his reply I have no freaking clue.

I have template which has replication and there are 3 replication. I am capturing images in each set. Now I want these images diaplayed one after the other at selected time interrval. Can I do this ?

OP is Original Poster which is you. And the problem was your sentence structure is very very bad which in turn makes it hard to help you because your questions are hard to understand.

Your question still isn't clear can you please better explain what it is you're trying to do. Pictures might help if you got em.

On what type of page (CGI/HTML) you are trying to display and select the images?

I am assuming you are working on a DCT from where you are trying to select some randomly displayed image.

Based solely on the above - and not all the other postings you've made in this thread - it sounds to me like:

Is that correct?If so - what the heck does this have to do with creating a dropdown menu?The above sounds like a not-too-unusual javascript implementation which I'm pretty sure you can find examples of by searching via google.If the above is not what you meant - you still have a long ways to go trying to clarify what you are doing, how you are doing it, and what you are trying to accomplish that isn't working for you.
