Inherit Permission from Parant channels to its Sub Channel and Its Contents

Hello,

In WEM, If the user is part of Administrator then can Create/Edit any contents or channels or Project Folders. We have created few Roles except below capabilities.

AUTH:ADMINISTRATOR
PWS:ADMINISTRATOR
VCM:ADMINISTRATOR

But these Role users not able to edit if Content created by another user. So, We are adding Manually that user in the security Tab of each contents. However, I have added that user in Site Security and added MODIFY capability as well.

Atleast if WEM will inherit permission from Top Level to child level that could be fine. Any suggestion?

Hi Jayaram,

 

<![if !supportLists]>1.      <![endif]>Create role with the required capabilities.

<![if !supportLists]>2.      <![endif]>Create group with list of users.

<![if !supportLists]>3.      <![endif]>Assign the group who needs the role capabilities to the Role.

<![if !supportLists]>4.      <![endif]>Assign the Group to site and you can also inherit the permission to sub channels in the site ( there is one check box for this “Use these authorized groups settings for all channels created under this Channel” ).   This is to give access to site to the group of users.

<![if !supportLists]>5.      <![endif]>Assign the Groups who needs access to the folders, you can also inherit the permission to sub folders if needed ( there is one check box for this “Use these authorized groups settings for all sub folders created under this Folder.”).  This is to give access to folders to the group of users.
