Issue using ReviewerMailNotificationTask class in the ootb EmailTask

vagrawal

Hi All,

I am trying to use the ReviewerMailnotificationTask . I have configured all require variables as follows

target_task_name -> My next task which has owner as $IW_User
classname -> com.interwoven.ui.teamsite.workflow.task.urltask.ReviewerMailNotificationTask
mail_template -> ReviewerMailNotificationTask

I am getting following error after instantiating this workflow

To me it seems to be some problem with the mail.jar classes which this ReviewerMailNotificationTask is using. I looked into the respective classes but unable to draw the cause. The error siply says that Array is been called with the index 0 and it does not have any thing in that index. So I just want to know is this a bug or is I am missing out some configuration for recipients list.

I would really appreciate any suggestion in this regards

Thanks

Vinay

Hi All,

I am trying to use the ReviewerMailnotificationTask . I have configured all require variables as follows

target_task_name -> My next task which has owner as $IW_User
classname -> com.interwoven.ui.teamsite.workflow.task.urltask.ReviewerMailNotificationTask
mail_template -> ReviewerMailNotificationTask

You are passing wrong mail template (xsl) with mail_template variable that should be:
/iwadmin/main/config/STAGING/workflow/email/reviewerNotification.xsl

Also make sure that mail.jar and mailapi.jar file should be in httpd's web-inf/lib directory.

HTH,

vagrawal

Hi,

Thanks for your quick reply I am passing the right template as you have mentioned. I am sorry for that typo, the template I am using is /iwadmin/main/config/STAGING/workflow/email/reviewerNotification.xsl

CRB

can you run the workflow in debug mode and post the xml spec?

CRB

duplicate.

vagrawal

Hi CRB,

Thanks for looking into my issue. Pardon me for my ignorance but please can you guide me how to establish the debug techniques for the workflow created by the "workFlow modeler". Also guide me with the steps where the xml specification gets created.

If I want to create the XML specification out of my Workflow designed using the workflow modeler how should I proceed.

Vinay

I think I have got an idea how to debug. Please correct me if I am wrong

In the available_model.xml I just have to start

model debug=true

According to you workflow debug information there are two email task. One AuthorNotification and another is ReviewerNotification.
Try to check only AuthorNotification Email Task is working?

In your workflow there is also a ReviewTask, its predecessor task is ReviewNotification Email Task, right.
You can send email notification within Review Task without adding a predecessor Email Task. So try to go this way.

Hope this helps.

vagrawal

I already tried using the review task to send the e-mail and got the same error that's why I have tried using the email task explicitly. I am also getting the same error with the AuthorNotification Email Task.

Thanks

Have you check that mail.jar and mailapi.jar exist at below path:
\iw-home\httpd\webapps\content_center\WEB-INF\lib
if not then put it there and reset server.
Also in iw.cfg you cofigured following:
maildomain=mycompany.com
mailserver=localhost
use_mapping_file=false
email_mapping_file=C:\iw-home\local\config\wft\solutions\email_map.cfg

email_api.cfg file should be present at the given path.

HTH,

mdang

It is choking at setting the email address of the user.
Two things:
1. Does the target task owner have his/her email set in the admin tab? (No, the email mapping file is obsolete in the java mailer)
2. Is the target task a group task?

Have You checked with AuthorMailNotificationTask.

Try to do one thing,
Just take a simple email task with user task before and after email task.

start-user task-email task-user task-end

and then try to gauge the situation.

Further query is always a welcome.

thanks,
