"modified by" user name issue

hi

i have developed a custom import functionality using ipl/cgi ,only issue is that when the user imports a file it shows modified by "SYSTEM" ,i am able to get the uname in ipl and pass it to cgi file but how do i set "modified by" to "uname"

during devnet search i read something about iw_cgi_wrapper with regards to this but not able to understand and find anyting in pdfs regarding this

any pointers regarding this?

What version of TS are you using? 6.7.2 by any chance?

If it is 6.7.2, a security 'hole' has been closed which means that all scripts (even 'regenerate page') are run as system.

The 'workaround' that's been suggested to us is to start using XSLT templates. But that doesn't help at all with any sort of script you might want to run...

and have made the entry in iwov_wrapper_cgis file

my cgi is in iw-bin base only

but when i try to execute it opens a window showing some cgi error code 2304 ,is there a way to go around this

any pointers from experts?

It's kind of difficult to give pointers without seeing the code - basically you need to debug your CGI script - try including:

...
use CGI::Carp qw(fatalsToBrowser);
...

and see if you get any better details about the error.

"iw-cc" Component seems to be the wrong portion of your URL. Log into TeamSite and try to activate the CGI program directly from
a browser, with and without a wrapper. Like this:

https://YourServer/iw-bin/x.cgi
https://YourServer/iw-bin/iw_cgi_wrapper.cgi/x.cgi

See what happens, you *may* have more informative Error handling messages.

i tried what you suggested but it is giving "exactly" same msg

ok,i am getting uname,is there a CLT through which i can set "modified by" to the uname which i am getting

i tried "iwlock" ,
it is not giving any errors but its neither setting the uname nor locking the file

any pointers regarding this ?.

What URL gives you "the same" problem? The one with the wrapper, the one without it or both?

the one "with the wrapper" ,the other one executes properly but "modified by" is SYSTEM,i just want the uname who is entering the file should come in "modified by" ,(i am not using iw-cc,i dont think it makes a diff to have it or not ,the execution flow seems same in both cases)

is that possible thr some CLT ?i m getting the uname
