Can anyone please tell me if i want to run spar backpacking components in 3.0,how can i achieve?
i know that spar is compatible with livesite 3.1.but currently we are working on
Livesite 3.0.

You have to abstract the required files from backpacking spar and then put into

content_center/livesite_customer_src

and run build.

But before this you have to know how develop a dynamic components in livesite. I suggest go through the Livesite Developer guide. There is an example given for "

Faq Entry

" data model. Try to understand it and then develop your required backpacking components.

Look at the SP Dev guide for your appropriate version. SPARs for SP 3.0.2 and SP 3.1 are not "inter-compatible". In other words, you cannot take SP 3.0.2 SPAR and install it on SP 3.1 - that is not supported. But going from one SP 3.0.2 to another SP 3.0.2 is fine. Please look at the SP Dev guide -- there is an entire section on SPAR and post your specific question once you have read/tried it.

You should follow the below steps:

Collect the required component and its code from SPAR.
Now setup eclipse env with livesite_customer_src.
Develop java code with the help of code collected from SPAR.
Run build, if success then check .jar file is created.
Now develop those component in Livesite UI.
If everything is performed successfully now add those component on page.

Hope now you will understand the procedure of developing external component.
