How to retrieve a Content Instance by path? [SOLVED]

Hi *,

I would like to retrieve a Content Instance by its path but I can't find how. I'm missing something like ContentUtil.findStaticFileByPlacementPath(java.lang.String path) but for Content Instances instead of Static Files or a fitting Filter for the Query API.
Any hint would be greatly appreciated!

You need to use a ContentInstanceDBQuery and impose a where condition on the logical path. This will return all content instances in a given project.

For anyone else wondering, the logical path can be set as WhereClause with the method 'checkParentProjectPath' as following:

String type = "VgnExtWhatever";String path = "/some/path";String name = "nameOfTheContentItem";ContentType contentType = (ContentType) ObjectType.findByName(type);ContentInstanceDBQuery query = new ContentInstanceDBQuery(new ContentTypeRef(contentType));ContentInstanceWhereClause pathClause = new ContentInstanceWhereClause();pathClause.checkParentProjectPath(StringQueryOp.EQUAL, path);query.addWhereClause(pathClause);IPagingList pagingList = QueryManager.execute(query);List asList = pagingList.asList();Iterator iter = asList.iterator();while (iter.hasNext()) {    ManagedObject obj = (ManagedObject)iter.next();    if(obj.getName().equals(name)){        // now you have the desired content item        break;    }}

Instead of querying for all content instances in a given project, you can set an extra where clause on the content instance name. So your query will be

“Give me all instances in a given project and having a given name”

That will be probably more efficient.
