Failed to compile JSP /server_error_display.jsp

It's odd to get error on compiling portal default jsp. The jsp is ../OpenText_Portal/portal/server_error_display.jsp. And the class HttpServletResponse should be basic class managed by server. Did someone encounter similar error?

Hi,

First understanding about the issue is with the servlet api version since getStatus() supports from Servlet 3.0

Can you provide some more details like which app server you are using and which version of JDK you are using?

We're using weblogic 10.3.6.0, java version is 1.6.0_36, we just upgraded to vignette 8.5.

Hi,

This issue is because Weblogic 10.3.6 supports Servlet api 2.5. The respective Jsp is using getStatus() method which is introduced in Servlet Api 3.0.

A quick workaround for this issue is to use next version of WebLogic server which supports Servlet Api 3.0. Another workaround is to write a class which extends HttpServletResponseWrapper by adding setStatus and getStatus methods as explained in below link.
