Variable passing in nested workflow

i am trying to pass global variable from parent workflow to nested workflow and vice versa but it's not happening.How do we pass variable b/w parent and nested workflow.kindly suggest pointers

Hi,

The problem can be converged, if we are able to set the job variables from the scripts in external task.
We tried setting job variable like below, but, it is not evaluating or giving any results when work flow is operated.

function test()
{

"$IW_CV(IDsomejobvariable)"="abc";

return "$IW_CV(IDsomejobvariable)";
}

return test();

return statement works fine, but "$IW_CV(IDsomejobvariable)"="abc";
does not.

Any pointers to this please.

I won't go into specifics of WFM vs. WFT coding - however the general concept is this:

Your responsibility is to find that "handle" in the child job and write whatever code you want to do what you need.

The taskid is the id of the task that spawned the nested workflow - there should be some way for you to find it either before you spawn the workflow or within the spawned workflow (depends on how you do the spawning) - I believe in the latter case there used to be something like a ptaskid form variable floating around.

I already explained how it could be used.

Why not chew on the above a bit, try something out and then post details about what you've tried.
