How to Show & Hide Widget in the Content Form based on Selection

Hi,

We have an Article CTD, and we have an requirement to show/hide widget groups based on the checkbox value.

Based on that Content Contributor will get option in the Article content Form to create CI.

For Example, if content contributor select a checkbox stating that required attachments option? then relator widget will appear to add attachments.

Please help to apply this change.

You have to add a listener to the change event of the checkbox which show/hides the div wrapping the widget/s that you want to hide. Beyond that you also need to initialize the visibility of such divs.

So what you need to do is to override the jsp of both the checkbox widget and of the widgets that you want to show/hide.

 

Some js function that you will fund useful:

 

<![if !supportLists]>1.      <![endif]>vui.ui.editor.findActive() returns the current editor instance

<![if !supportLists]>2.      <![endif]>vui.vcm.ui.editor.tagform.findWidgetByAttributeName(editor, attributeName) returns the widget instance for the given editor and the given attribute xml name

<![if !supportLists]>3.      <![endif]>vExt.get(widget.id + “-wrapper”) returns the wrapper div for the given widget

 

I assume that you know how to override the widget jsp for a given attribute
