Syntax for adding a drop down in custom_instantiation.cfg

alisyedj

Hi

In the custom_instantiation.cfg, I want to display value of a Configurable Variable in a drop down. I tried the following and when I add an event to capture onItemChange for the drop down, it does not work.

Any ideas on what is the correct syntax for displaying a drop down.

<select>
<option> </option>
<select>

Hi

Try this
DropDownTest

Configurable Varibale1
Configurable Varibale2
I would strongly suggest you add close tags for both label and option if you want to avoid some obvious errors.

Thanks for your strong suggestion,but i tried a lot to close the tags for both label and option,but i don't know why the editor is not showing them accurately when i preview my post,i tried many ways even by changing the values of option as well as label.

Tried both Wrapping with HTML Tag as well as Code Tag,but on preview either it deletes the close tags for option and label or show the drop-down.

Unable to understand the strange behavior.

At last i changed the format as you can see.

Sorry for the in-convenience.

As per the instruction and suggestion got from you and forum, i always preview my post before posting them.

Just checking out devnet post formatting issue
DropDownTest

Configurable Varibale1
Configurable Varibale2
It seems to work just fine for me by wrapping the entire section in
...
Note - you probably want to add a

size="n"

attribute to your select element to make it clear whether you want it to be a drop-down or displayed list.
