OD failure

TS VERSION: 6.7.2
OD VERSION: 6.2.0

OD fails:
when trying to deploy some sample HTML files from source to traget fails.
im trying to deploy files from one server to another server, deploment fails.

So as a first test, i deployed files within the server and within the drives itself from

\send to

\recv . Deployment is sucess, but if i try from D drive to C drive, it fails. it says deployment complete with errors.

I hve made corresponding changes to odbase.xml.

PFA, The error logs.
can any one walk me thro in this issue please.

I can see the following error in the logs file ...
which means that you have not made an entry to odrcvr.xml for allowed paths .

I hope this will fix the issue .

I have not installed the receiver in the machine. Instead base is installed. And i have defined my source and target. Also a corresponding entry is also made in Allowed host in the odbase.xml

also make sure that you have restarted the OD receiver after you made these changes.

Check the odbase.xml snippet file ...you have done the entry only for

path name="D:\Interwoven\OpenDeployNG\tmp"/>

not for the

"C:\ODRECEIVE"

.

add this to your file and it will work , I guess so :-

path name="C:\ODRECEIVE/> "

I just deployed files again. And posted you the recent files.

I have changed the location after you said. Please refer to the latest snippet and the lastest ERRORS zip

the source is from :

\Interwoven\OpenDeployNG\userlib

and the target is to : C:\ODRECEIVE

And it says completed with errors.. refer screen shot

1) Send me the latest odbase.xml you have
2) run the workflow again and send me the latest log files .
3) did you restarted the odservices after you made the change to odbase.xml ?

this zip file only contains the screenshot not the log files .

Yes after installation i have restarted the services and restarted the server itself. But not after making changes to the odbase & odnodes like making changes with the source target destination locations.

Should i do it now? If yes, which services should be stopped in what order- is it like this:

Pl confirm-

This is error in your src log file >>

Receiver-ERROR: ERROR: [c:\odreceive] is not an allowed deployment path.

Where as in your configuration file and odbase.xml file path shows as >> C:\ODRECEIVE

Why there is diff. in case?

Just try workaround as >> try with adding path in odbase.xml as c:\odreceive as well as C:\ODRECEIVE.

Do restart the services once changes done and try deployment

Oh My **** it worked. So if i have to tranfer files from one location to another say in another server, how do i give the path?

Suppose if i have to deploy files from current servers Teamsite path as below:

Y:\default\main\SALES\admin\STAGING

TO another severs named as say EDTSV0 - to its filesystem (any folder) as we have no TS installed in that machine. This server EDTSV0 is the server where i have installed the receiver version, how should i modify the path in the odbase.xml, odnodes.xml and the config file[In my case i have named it as ODTEST.xml].

Also let me know for every change in the xml files do we need to restart the services??

I guess you needs to go through the documentation for more details on same.

Here is short description on this >>

Base server: TS + OD base

1) odbase.xml >> Add "allowedHosts" i.e EDTSV0.

2) odnodes.xml >> node name="EDTSV0" host="EDTSV0" port="20014"

3) Config file >>

localNode host="Base server"

nodeRef useNode="EDTSV0"

Od-receiver i.e. Server EDTSV0 >>

1) odrcvr.xml >>
Add allowedHosts i.e base server name.

Refer OD admin and config guides for more information on this.

After any changes done in server configuration files (i.e. - odbase.xml,oddrcvr.xml,odnodes.xml etc) you must needs to restart the OD base and receiver server.

Just goto >> od-home/OpenDeployNG/bin/
Run >> iwodserverreset

Yes, the given workaround works good for the deployment within the servers.

But when i want to deploy files like this from one server to another server using the UNC path its not wrking. It says completed with errors.

Aim: To deploy files from server1 [EDTSV0] =Y:\default\main\SALES\admin\STAGING
to server 2 [EDTSV1] = \\EDTSV1\odrcvrtmp

I feel that the path notation seems to be incorrect. I have attached the snippet. Could you please tell me how to deploy files from one server to another. I tried with below code and after making channges, i reset the server . bat file also.

Its seems you have not done right configuration as per your snippets. Also the log file attached have no provide you specific errors. Its better if you refer the deployment specific log files for errors.

The error states that, A target host node included in the deployment is not defined in the nodes configuration file (by default odnodes.xml).

So on your base server's -- odndoes.xml

Check with entry Like:
