Modify content during publish

Hello,

During our publish workflow, we need to clear out one field.  The clear works fine and then we added a provided (OpenText) task to the workflow that does 'setStateApproved'.  However, content publishes as stale.  Any suggestions?

As per my understanding, Its not recommended to change a content in publishing workflow.Content in publishing workflow(payload) go with the snapshot(a specific version of content), if you modify the content in payload it will not reflect in payload because payload already holding a previous version/snapshot of content. It will publish the content but the changes done in workflow will not move to delivery stage. That's why your content is stale.Thanks,Trilochan
