code changes after upgrade to TS6.7.1 SP1 ?

Hi All,

We are planning to upgrade from TS 6.1 to TS 6.7.1 SP1.
do we require any code changes in workflows or templates after upgrading?

for example if we are reading xxxx.uid files and populating a dropdown in a workflow initialization form, how we can handle this after upgrading to TS 6.7.1 SP1 because there are no .uid files after upgrade.

Are there any other code changes required?
if somebody already experienced after upgrading please can share those details ?

currently we are on Solaris 8 platform.

We have recently done the upgrade on out Windows platform. The below changes would be required.

1. iw_role has been removed. So you would have to use the new flexirole.

Or else, you can modify your wft to read the .uid files using perl.

3. If are using CLTs then, you have have to re code the wft as IW can confirmed that there is a BUG wrt to CLTs in TS 6.7.1. "External Task Commands Using URLs" or using CCSDK should be used.

The Bug is to do with an OpenSSL overhead which causes a slowdown of CLTs such as iwextattr. This happened when engineering replaced sciface/rpc with hopi in recent versions of TeamSite. This has not been fixed as yet (even in TS6.7.2) The work around for this is to use the CCSDK or to use a url command. There are examples of this in the "ts_671sp1_wfdev_v01_en.pdf". There's a full example of this in the PDF on page 39.

This may also apply to your custom .cgi/.ipl. But if performance is not an issue then the same could be ignored.

Reading the .uid files with Perl is not a reasonable solution as those files are no longer used. The iwaccess CLT or CSSDK code would be a better choice.

You can email me so that I can send you some of the test cases which you should be doing before/after the upgrade.

If the test cases are pass then you should upgrade or else you should raise a ticket with IW.

You may require a small bit of code change or significant, that depends on the customisation done in your TS box. As you know there is no other way except to upgrade IMO, then you should get all possible scenarios where you guess/think a code change may be necessary and then prioritize the list. Search on devnet and support for your related issues. Having said that i assume you are going to upgrade first on your sandbox or dev box which should not hamper business users.
