Currently our Iwov Teamsite 6.7.2 is installed on C drive where we have space limitations.Total Space on C Drive : 20 GBCurrently available Space is : 2 GBiwfreeze point is : 5% (hencefort the system is still working)Current All our Log file size (iwtrace, utild, events log togeather ) = 5 GB.Everytime we have to stop the Iwov Service and then move the log seperately to D Drive.Does Iwov support the CONCEPT OF ROLLING LOG for all its MAJOR LOG FILES like (iwtrace, utild, events log) by updating the Interwoven Configuration Files.
That FR has been out there for many years. Add your company to it. However you can move the logs to by changing iw.cfg.Also, the 5% free limit is the amount of disk for iwstore not iwhome
to start with - even on my own notebook I would not setup C: with 20GB. I'd suggest that you either re-install TeamSite or (if your drive is of reasonable size) simply move the existing store there. It's pretty easy to do.Secondly, IWOV should not support any concept of rolling logs - you system administrators should take care of that. There is an excellent command called logrotate for Unix (Its standard in Linux and I think also in Solaris now as well). You could use it for Windoze as well, if you read:http://www.sprint.net.au/~terbut/usefulbox/apachelogrot.htm
The link shows a script used to perform log rotation for a web server - and it doesn't mention "logrotate" at all.I think it is perfectly reasonable for customers to expect the vendor to provide for automatic rotation of log files - allowing the customer to configure it based on time or size, and leave the removal of old rotated log files completely up to the customer. One of these days, maybe we will see it - otherwise it's up to the customer (or their hired consultant) to design an implement their own custom log rotation scheme - which usually requires stopping TeamSite (whereas if the vendor did it, one would hope that the server process would be able to take care of it without disrupting service)
