Cgitask in java

Hi,

Can a cgitask be implemented in java.If yes ,how...i am using WFM 1.0.1.1 .The 'cgi script name' options asks to put files in iw-bin...i donot think java files can be put in iw-bin...please help

Yes CGI Tasks can be tied with a Java class. Typically your put any perl/cgi scripts under the iw-bin directory. However, your Java class(es) should go under the customer_src directory.

CGI Tasks invoke a CGI-based web page and that page code could be written in any language executable as a server-side script on TS server. Traditionally, by default only Perl was enabled.

However in recent years (actually for a while now) they have enabled Java as well. I am not sure if it is documented anywhere. Your approach of using a JSP should work just fine. You could try something like this:

1. Create a custom JSP and store it under customer_src directory

2. Compile that JSP and verify that you can access it in a browser via some URL (probably something like: http://your-teamsite-server/iw-cc/ccpro/some.jsp" -- again the exact URL will depend on where you put your JSP.)

3. In your WFM, in the CGITask, set the value for the "CGI Script Name" property to the relative path to your JSP. In our example from step 2: /iw-cc/ccpro/some.jsp.

Try that and see what you get.

In case of a URLExternalTask(Java Implementation) with execute method, I can get task related info like files attached to task . I need to display all those attached files in next task which is CGI Task. In the CGI Task using jsp is there any method to get all those attached files and other task related info.

You can use CSSDK API to do whatever you need in your custom JSP.

Check WorkFlowModeller APIs.

You can use getFiles() method of interface WEMWorkflow.
This method returns you an array of all files attached to the work flow object.

Go through WorkFlowModeller API.

Import the packagecom.interwoven.modeler.workflow

Create the Object and use it.
It is just like an Java Code,that you have to manipulate that how the object is coming,may be it can directly accessible to you or you have to pass some instance of WorkFlow to get that object.

As i have not tried it so not sure.
