ContentByURL-configuration

Hi,

I am using 10.5.1 connector.

We have requirement to use ContentByURL for PDF assets.

1.I have added below config to test ContentByURL:

otmm.rendering.8.name=thumbnailotmm.rendering.8.type=ContentByURLotmm.rendering.8.url_attribute=UOIS/THUMB_NAIL_OBJ_IDotmm.rendering.8.url_template={0}/content/GetContent.do?object_id={1}otmm.rendering.8.is_otmm_url=true

otmm.renderings.ACROBAT.thumbnail=8otmm.otmmAssetSync.mapTo.thumbnail=thumbnail

2.I expictly clicked on "Thumbnail" asset picker.

3.Selected PDF file

4.It got assigned under Thubnail.

5.But its URL is poiting to Hybris Media url not OTMM url.

Hi Krishn,

ContentByURL means that the image is retrieved via the specified URL and _replicated_ to hybris.
Maybe you are looking for assignment type URL?
With type URL the MediaItem only holds a URL pointing e.g. to OTMM.

For type=URL you need additionally the following config entries:

media.folder.otmmurl.url.strategy=otmmInternalUrlStrategyotmm.rendering.8.media_folder=otmmurl

And also some zscript custom code for Single Sign On that I can send you, if you want to go with type=URL.

1.Productcockpit

As per docs,for URL we need these properties:

Required are url_attribute and url_template properties. Per default, no MIME type is set. hybris then automatically sets application/octet-stream. Use either mimetype_attribute or mimetype property (but not both).

For PDF assets what should be "URL_template" value.

2.CMS cockpit:For CMS cockpit assets where to configure rendition properties?I have requirement to use OTMM URL for PDF assets in WCMS.

Please suggest.

Should the PDFs be downloadable for end-customer from the store? If so I would still use the Media Servlet with format “original” which allows to pull PDF, cache it locally at servlet rendition store and distribute it to the caller of the URL.

So just asking if you are sure you want an OTMM url here: which would normally be inside the corporate network and (if Using REST URLs) also needs OTMM authentication before access?

1.PDF use case:We may have to download PDF on demand to index its content and allow search by its content within Hybris.Any suggestion around this?

I noticied that "DAM assignment dialogue" doent allow content search(PDF text search).

2.More likely we will be using MediaServlet.Does it require separate license?

3.URL:Is it specific to video streaming only?Can it be used for PDF as well?
