Asset assignment for Localized/Multi-language attribute

Hi,

Customer has created an attribute where the association of image is done for localized version of the attribute. We did setup the editor just like any other attribute but it errors out when trying to assign the image to localized version of the attribute.

Attached the screenshot from backoffice of the multi-lingual attribute and the errors in the log that we are seeing.

Is this type of assignment supported?

Hi Niranjan,

currently localized media isn't supported by our backoffice media reference editor.

The assignment process in general supports localized media. Also the cockpit editors (for productcockpit, cmscockpit).

When we did the assignment in product cockpit, it wasn't saving the selection.
How can it be done in productcockpit?

May I ask you to tell me what do you mean with "saving the selection". Do you mean asset assignment?

Correct, after the asset is selected and assigned and click Done we don't see the asset set on the localized attribute.

When we assign the asset to localized attribute in product cockpit in Customer environment, I see in the log that asset assignment is not supported forlocalized:MediaContainer and only supported for Media, localized:Media and few more.

To test this on my local Hybris, I setup a CMS Banner Component's Image as localized MediaContainer and it worked in CMS Cockpit.

Isn't it supposed to be same behavior in both Product cockpit and CMS cockpit?

I see this in CMS cockpit which suggests that the underlying type for CMS Banner Component is localized:Media and not localized:MediaContainer even though the property says so in HMC.

I'll let the customer know about that.

Indeed the DAMLink version you have does not support Localized:MediaContainer, but only Localized:Media.

The upcoming patch will also support Localized.MediaContainer, which we saw to be used in WCMS for the responsive storefront.
