Concept of JRule and JBoss

Hi

i am trying to understand the concept of JRule by reading the documentation that i got from the location

//ls-home/ilog/doc

I have two questions here ?

1. How JRule is associated with LiveSite.
2. What is relation between JBoss and JRule.

From where i can get more documentation as the current documentation that i had is explaining the enhanced features not the basic one.

jrules is used as the backing rules engine for targeting. it is meant as a black box and cannot be directly accessed.

Jboss serves the Teamserver application that is used for the rules repository.

Could it be accessed programatically... or we need to put authors on to the server to create all rules and segments manually?

no the rules interface it only exposed through the UI.
