Hi All,

Can you please tell me if it is possible to generate JSP's from site publisher instead of HTMLs (Generate HTML). If yes, can you please tell me how we can achieve this.

It would be very helpfull if you point me to the material.

Hi

Under the Menu Tab "LiveSite" ,we have three links

Generate HTML
Generate JSP
Generate ASP

But,by default only first one(Generate HTML) is enabled,rest two you have to enable them.

Steps To Enable Other Two Links(Generate JSP/Generate ASP)

Check file ui-common.xml at location
[\\iw-home\httpd\webapps\content_center\WEB-INF\conf\livesite]

Find the line
" Uncomment to enable the "Generate ASP" command."

Un-comment the block

Note:Remember to change the label,else you will face same-name issue as discussed in the this post

Save the file and copy it to the location

[\\iw-home\local\config\lib\content_center\customer_src\etc\conf\customer]

Build the tool-kit.

Then You Have these two links.

Another way is to copy that code block instead of un-commenting and paste in the ui_custom.xml at location
[\\iw-home\local\config\lib\content_center\customer_src\etc\conf\customer].Then Run tool-kit,it will also do the same work

Hi

By default there is no OOTB functionality available which can generate .xml files for .page.

But you can achieve this by one approach may be that is Work flow.

Create an Work flow having an URLExternalTask (probabily) that will
execute a Custom Code ,which will take your .page file and create an XML file.

But this is a complex and tedious task to do.

Just for curiosity Why you want to generate xml file from .page file ?

we discussed over this XML approach and finally decided that it is not adding any value, we are going ahead with JSP approach.
