Linux: Steps to configure TS Preview

I've gone through TS documentation but didnt find it much usefull.

Can anybody help me in doing the basic steps from the start in configuring TS preview on Linux enviornment.

Can I use HTTP server found inside Linux for TS preview? If yes than how to go ahead.

How do I add a custom port 81? I'm totally new to Linux.

Please help!

I assume you're running RHEL-4 or 5.Which webserver are you running .
Is that Apache/Tomcat ?

First Confirm that your WebServer for Eg. apache is running and you can access the default page from your browser lets say http://localhost: and from anyother client(browser) on the network .Do you know the port that the Webserver is running now ?

Did you do a default install of Linux? It should of came pre installed with apache already. If you accepted the defaults while installing TeamSite, it should of changed the listening port of apache to 81. You can try to go to the following page:
http://yourlinuxserver:81/ and you should see a sample page. If not, then you will need to look into the httpd.conf file. Just do a "locate httpd.conf" and the console should list where you can find that file. Look for a line that says: Listen 81 (or some other number).
Make sure the port number from above matches your customer_webserver_port in your iw.cfg file.

Are you looking at the local server's webserver's httpd.conf or TeamSite's iwwebd's httpd.conf?

The latter should be listening on port 80 and unless you did something odd during installation, shouldn't require tinkering with.

The former may or may not be in the httpd.conf (different versions of different web servers use different configuration files) - but somewhere within those configuration files should be something that indicates either a "port" or "listen" directive - and that is what you want to have set to 81 (assuming that port 81 isn't being used by anything else on your server). You also need to make sure that your iw.cfg file is configured correctly to point to port 81 (or whatever you end up using) for the customer web server port -- and port 81 for the iwwebd port.

once your local webserver Apache is up and running you just need to
change your customer_webserver_port in your iw.cfg for teamsite .
