Hi All,

I am very new to TeamSite. I am considering integrating an app we created into it in a very simple way. Basically, I want to create a component with a simple HTML from on it that has two fields and a submit button. When clicked this calls the apps API via WebServices or a similar api.

I was wondering what language would I need to write the server side logic for this integration with TeamSite in?

Do you have gone through the manuals?

If not then i suggest before going ahead please fulfill these.

To be honest I am just at the fact finding stage at the moment. Before I actually implement it training is certainly something that would be needed. I was just interested to know what is involved to achieve this sort of integration.

Your requirements are not really clear. But it *sounds* like this should not be too hard. There is an SDK available (CSSDK) which should provide the API you require.

Adding to this there is SitePublisher which creates your component and can be used to deploy to any runtime App server connected to a runtime repository.

I also am having a hard time understanding what you want to do. It sounds like you want a remote application to call into TeamSite to save information that is captured on a web page form? If so, you can write your server-side logic for that application in any language and use CSSDK to save data to TeamSite. If you have your choice of languages, Java is the most convenient since there is an ObjectOriented client available for Java. For any other language, you would generate the appropriate SOAP stubs from the WSDL (most languages have good support for SOAP).

If you want to extend the primary TeamSite user interface (called ContentCenter) with your own custom logic, there is a document call the UI Customization Guide that explains how to do this and gives examples. The customizations can be as simple as adding an item to an existing menu that calls a remote webpage to complex business logic that adds an entire new sub-app.

If you are using TeamSite to build a website (the typical solution) and you want your website to be dynamic, SitePublisher is a good option. Many customers use their own presentation logic instead of SitePublisher and rely on TeamSite for managing content creation, workflow approval, publishing to production (via OD). etc.
