I would like to know if it's possible to disable the command "New Edition" in the GUI for role "Editors" even though we enabled "Publish Edition" for that role.

We enabled it because we have workflows that publish editions, and needed it enabled for them to work.

Essentially, we want to enable editors to publish editions but only through a workflow. We don't want them to create new editions from the GUI.

Is it possible to hide "New Edition" link in the GUI or customize it to call our workflow to publish edition?

Hi Vivek,
Its possible to hide the "New Edition" for a particular role.
For this you will have to do customization.
Go through the uicg.670.cg PDF,I hope you will able to do it yourself.
For your information,the customization will be done in the iw-home\local\config\lib\content_center\customer_src directory.
You will have to make changes in the ui_custom.xml and userops_custom.xml .
I hope you must be hiding the Publish Edition by unchecking it from the admin tab,manage roles and content management section.
