Sitepublisher installer

Hi,

I am trying to install Sitepublsher as a Standalone Module. for this i am also following the steps given in guide ts_672_install_win_v03_en.pdf page number 84.

I have my Teamsite 672 installation on different machines. I mapped that drive and go into that drive in CMD.

Z:\TS6.7.2\TeamSite\InstallerData\modules\sitepublisher\Disk1\InstData\NoVM>site publisher.exe LAX_VM E:\teamsite\iwinstall\jre\bin\java.exe -f E:\teamsite\iwins
tall\log\testinstall.properties

But after this i am getting error like: sitepublisher install error
Get frameworks variables failed
Unable to locate the product home directory or the modules directory .Select OK to exit.

Now what step i am doing wrong here.

I think you can not install SitePublisher on different machine.
If you check installation guide it is mentioned in step- 2: "This is the same system that hosts the TeamSite server."

I think you misunderstood the (admittedly confusing terminology in the) documentation - by "standalone" in the context in which it is used - it means "separate installation step" not "separate server installation" -- i.e. SitePublisher needs to be installed on the same server as TeamSite.

I don't believe that what you are trying to do (as I understand what you've written) is supported.

Okay - I think I understand what you were saying before - it's not that you have TeamSite installed on another machine, but rather you have the TeamSite installer file on another machine, which you've mapped to the TeamSite server as Z:

I'm not sure what the source of the error is, but I will tell you that I ran into a lot of problems the one time I tried to install SitePublisher as a "standalone module" after having installed TS672SP1 - and that it generally behaved much better when I wiped my box and did the entire installation in one step rather than two.

It's not a great prospect having to do this - but if you have the option - I'd recommend starting from scratch and doing it all as one step.

Looking at what you posted though - I see at least one or two discrepancies from what is documented - which might have something to do with the problem you're experiencing.

Z:\...\NoVM> site publisher.exe LAX_VM E:\teamsite\iwinstall\jre\bin\java.exe -f E:\teamsite\iwinstall\log\testinstall.properties

The first one, the space between "site" and "publisher" is, I'm assuming, the byproduct of the forum software and not how you actually typed it (yes?)
The second one may or may not matter - but the instructions indicate that you should be running java from the extract_dir not from the iw-install dir - I would take this to be:

iwhome/tools/java/...

The third part is that you should be referencing the file "

TeamSitennnnnnnn2009install.properties

" not "

testinstall.properties

only correction was that the path of java else all was fine
i.e. iwhome/tools/java/
