FYI: Generating SSL certificates for Teamsite 6.x.x

Hi Folks,

I have been having some trouble trawling through DevNet, getting an updated and concise summary of how to create a new SSL certificate for Teamsite 6.x.x (we are just installing 6.7.1 SP1 - This was mainly to resolve the 'snake oil' warnings in the iwui error log).

Anyway, just thought I would point out that this KB article exists:

Are you using SSL - or do you just want to get rid of the warnings?

If the latter - you need to edit IWHOME/iw-webd/conf/iwwebd.conf.template

The first change (related to a different error message) is to comment out the line that specifies a custom magic-file which most people don't have, and thus avoids an error message about the missing file.

The second change (related to your error message) just tells iwwebd to not look for SSL certificates and thus not produce an error message about it not being valid.

We did this during installation, pre-reboot. I think you can just do an iwreset -ui after making the change though.
