Determining the NT Share Group for a Branch
nUMBA9
Does anyone know how to determine the NT group for sharing setup on a branch after it has been created?
For instance with a WA you can see the share group via the UI, but with the branch this information is not displayed, and we can’t find a CLT for display either.
Problem is that there is confusion on which group was used at the time of the branch setup

We have used the following model to set up branches and groups for sharing - on W2K AS...
Create groups on the OS for all the branches you are going to create, repeat this exercise for all the workareas as well. We add all our users to a main teamsite users group and create a workarea off the main branch and share it with this group and publish an edition (then we blow away the workarea).
Now if you want users to only see workareas they have access to add them to the branch group (the group you share the branch with) and add them to the workarea groups you want them to be members of. This is all you have to do. Of course ensure all your users are in the approriate TS role files :-)
Hope this helps...
