In-context edit dcr

I am using in-context-editing using a DCR. When a user edits data using the in-context feature (by taking mouse over text and editing data), data is not updated in the DCR although it is seen on the screen. Is it the case only with me or every one else.

I suppose, the data should also reside in the DCR for content sharing. Please share your scenario here.

Are you able to edit the dcr directly and see changes? Just wondering if there is some permissions issue going on here as we haven't heard this one before.

If you are refering a content from a DCR using datum, you need to edit the DCR from there itself to make it updated.

However in-context edit provides the capability to update the content over the page itself, but it would not be saved physically to anywhere from where it is being referenced.

In that sense, your component is working all correct.

Thanks for the reply. But wouldn't it be logical and useful to be able to save the DCR data using in-context edit into the DCR than the .page itself?

we use DCR for content sharing but in-context DCR can not be used for the same. umm.. looks like Interwoven needs to revisit this issue.

I implemented in-context feature for DCR Datum Type.
In my case when i edit the DCR Content at component level,the data also resides in the DCR.
