Need to remove Â characters from Visual Format

When I drop HTML into Visual Format it converts Non Breaking Spaces to &#160. They end up in the page as the following character

[PHP]
Â
[/PHP]

I have looked all over to see if I can find a regex to remove this character and replace with a nbsp. Has anyone run into this? I searched the forums and DevNet and tried a couple things and came up empty handed.

Thanks ISCBorisB. I spent most of the day looking through here on DEV Net, but haven't found anything that worked yet. It looks like the character is being saved in the DCR this way.

Do you know what I can do to prevent this?

This is a UTF-8 'space character'. This came up since Visual Format came into light. Since then every sensible developer has a set of cleanup regexes.

You could also look up on the web a routine called 'demoronise'. It helps.

I usually leave this for the presentation template to deal with. I have a quite a large set of regexes, but I'd suggest you o try to clean your output text with demoronise first. If it doesn't work, ask me to mail you the function(s)
