Teamsite Search

vikaslohia

Hi,

I have installed teamsite 6.7.2 SP1 on windows (previously was using Teamsite 6.5.0 SP2). I am now seeing a new Search option after logging to teamsite. When I click on search, I get an error message -
"An error occurred communicating with the search server: Could not borrow a SearchSocket from the SearchConnection pool : java.lang.Exception: Could not open connection to Search Server."

Is this because I have not installed the Teamsite search? Is so, is there any way of removing this button (since I dont need this option at the moment).

Regards,
Vikash

Check whether the search and index services are running?
What is current version of search installed?

Hi Pawan,

As I mentioned, I have not installed the Teamsite search package. Instead of installing the option, I want to remove the search button from the teamsite UI.
Is this possible in any way?

You can comment the search entry in your toolkits.xml file and run make_toolkit, this should disable the search functionality, however, this is just a guess for TS6.7.2 SP1, you may want to try this on your dev box and confirm it breaks nothing else, or, check with support on this.
