Tagging Components- Content types | Content Categories

Hi,

I am facing issue while tagging components.

I have created 3 content type and 3 categories using Taxonomy manager. I have also deployed those taxonomies to the Development server using publish livesite workflow.

############### Working Fine here ################

If i go site folder under branch in default\main and select the index.page>file >tag > select raleted categories >

new window opens with all the categories i have created .

If i go site branch in default\main and select the index.page>file >tag > select content type>

new window opens with all the content type i have created .

################ ISSUE ######################################

if i go got components branch and select any .component file > file >tag > select content type>

New window opens but without content type list...

if i go got components branch and select any .component file > file >tag > select related categories>

New window opens but without categories list...

Note : - Screen shot is attached !

Is it something we need to configure it ? is Yes how ?

tagging is tied to a specific branch. since you can't make a taxonomy under the component branch you won't see anything tagging is more for content, pages images DCR's etc... Also keep in mind SP tagging it not standard Teamsite tagging.

Can you please tell me how can we tag components (.components file). since i want to use targeting feature .

As per documentation ! we need to tag components with content type and content categories .

Then i will map the content to content rule and segments ...

Please correct me if i am wrong

Where in the docs does it describe the need to tag components?

this is not correct.

as i said you tag resources such as DCRs. you will apply the content rule to to the content rule datum on the component on a page. this will then pull in your targeted content.

There is an out of the box example component that you can look at. it uses the livesite/content DCT for it's DCR content. you make these types of DCR's in the same work area as the site.
