Search Works BUT CC Standard Search Portal = "- Search is currently not available - "

I am stumpted. I've done all of the below and for some reason on content center standard all I see under the search portlet is "- Search is currently not available -". In CC Profrssional I can search so I know that its working.

I've already done the following.

Installed search
confugured branches.cfg
configured FieldMapping.xml
build the indexes

I have not made any customizations to portal_custom.xml

The "Saved Searches" portlet under the "Search" portlet does display saved searches I did as a test from the CC pro interface.

Any pointers are appreciated.

We upgraded search and this problem went away.

I have the same problem. We have upgraded from 2.1.1 to 3.1 but still the same problem exists. Did you do anything after the search upgrade. we are on 6.7.2 windows 2003

No nothing special. I will however tell you my experience with search has been time consuming. The product is unstable and it has been one support ticket after another.
