DCT drop down list from external xml file

Hi Guys,

How can a dct drop down be populated from an external xml file located in workarea. I am using callserver() in js file to call .ipl file located in iw-home\http\iw-bin. XML file has a select with 2 options. What's the code to be placed in .ipl file. Any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated.

I agree with Ghoti that you should try to read the manuals before posting such questions.

For this time though here is your answer from the teamsite templating guide

command.ipl would read the xml and return something like this:

If you are going to use callServer() - then you need to spend more time reading the FormAPI manual and searching the forums for examples of:

an inline and a callServer script get invoked - right?

Absolutely....inline is far more simpler....if you just want to maintain the vales externally

callserver is suitable if you want to retrieve the drop-down values from the database et al....
