Login problem

disco

I am having trouble logging into the TeamSite product. I can log into the server through telnet so I know that my username and password are correct. I have checked the master.uid file and my username is listed. One of my colleagues is having the same problem. Another one of our users can login without any problem. We just installed the product (552) on Solaris 8 on Monday morning. We had no problems logging in on Monday. The problem seemed to start after installing WorkFlow Builder server and a TeamSite Templating service pack. (Not sure about this though)

Has anyone run into this before?

We had similar problems after our 5.5.2 upgrade on Solaris. Give this a try - it solved the problem for us:

.../iw-home/bin/iwuser -c -user <username>

Substituting your path to your bin directory and the username that is failing for <username>.

Hi,

Also, you can use the iw-home/bin/iwuser.ipl command to take a look at the Entity Id, Unix Id, and TeamSite name of a user.

For example, if I run:

bash-2.03$ ./iwuser tvaughan
User tvaughan
    Entity ID 11
    Aliases:
        Unix user ID 7859
        Unix user name tvaughan
    No related groups.
Properties:
        iw_which_ui=webdeskpro

Make sure that the 'User' (in this case 'tvaughan') is exactly the same as 'Unix user name' (in this case, also 'tvaughan'). If the two are mis-matched, you should blow away the user and re-create him.

Or, and be careful doing this, edit the Entity database directly by going in to iw-homelocal/entities and editing the file with the same name as the 'Entity ID'

I was running into this problem where I would create 2 accounts then try to log-in to TS gui and I would receive Authentication failure error for one but not the other. After running iwuser command I was seeing that
iw_which_ui = "webdeskpro" was not specified in the properties of the failing account so I opened the file which corresponded with the ID located in iw-home/local/entities/data and added the string iw_which_ui = "webdeskpro" under the properties section of the file. After running iwreset I was able to login to the gui.
