Roles and File Permissions in TeamSite

Hello Guys,
Is there any good documentation about the Roles in TeamSite, how the Windows File permissions in IFS mount affect the Roles and how the Roles affect the Windows File Permissions in IFS mount , Windows permissions in branches, what is their impact to branches and sub branches...etc ?

It is bit difficult to visualize the entire security model in TeamSite.

Help is much appreciated.

you forgot to mention the version and also, depending on the version, whether you are using TeamSite or OS groups.

The basic premise is that roles control what operations are available to a given user within a given branch or workarea and ACEs/ACLs control what operations are available to a given user on [non-branch/non-workarea] directories and files.

There is some "overlap" or "grey-zones" in which roles (such as Master) may be provided access to files and/or directories (within TS) that they otherwise wouldn't have access to - essentially granting them [Windows] Administrator rights.

For more information about roles - see the TS Admin Guide. Also look in there (chapter 6 for TS 672) for information about "Access Considerations".

If the above doesn't answer your questions - then you need to make your questions more detailed and explicit.
