Multiple Files Selection in Workflow
suj
How do I select files from multiple directories to begin a workflow so that these files get attached in the workflow which will be used for deploying?

You can preselect files by selecting List Modified in the View pulldown. Understanding, of course, that you can only select files within the workarea you are running the workflow from. List Modified will show you all modified files in all subdirectories in the current workarea. You can then select whichever ones you want to add to the job.

If list modified does not work for you, you can also create a custom menu item that lets a user navigate through a workarea and select files. That custom menu item can then start a workflow.
See this thread for starting a wft from a custom menu item:

You can also use workflow functionality to add/remove files from multiple directories. From a usertask, someone can select 'start task' or 'edit task' from the task options menu to display the task details. From here, one of the task operation options is "add existing file". This will let a user navigate through a workarea and add files to the workflow.
Using a custom menu item is a little more user friendly, but using the "add existing file" option in a usertask is a faster solution.

You could even automate the this custom adding the file point. How about a CGItask as the start task which executes your custom CGI. This custom CGI should let user either browse through the files or in a crude way let them specify pathnames.
Once the information is gathered, then the custom CGI will add the files using iwaddtaskfile CLT. This way upon starting the workflow, first this workflow will gather files to be added from different folders.
Hope this helps!
