Getting Links to Work in Preview Environment

Hi All,

I am trying to get a Page Link to work in both the preview and runtime environments. It seems to work fine in runtime, but does not work correctly in the preview environment. It uses a DCR to get the link and I have checked to make sure the path to the DCR is correct, so that doesn't seem to be the issue. Here is an overview of the code (without actual tags):

anchor
xsl:attribute name="href"
$URL_PREFIX '<'xsl:value-of select="/Properties/Data/Datum[@ID='D01']/DCR/....."'>'
end xsl:attribute

xsl:value-of select="/Properties/Data/Datum[@ID='D01']/DCR/...." disable-output-escaping="yes"

end anchor

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It will be easier to get to the solution if You attach the DCT and the
XSLT files.

Nothing from Your side but still I will go a bit and say that It should not show in preview.
and so everything is fine as far as the things are concerned.

I have experienced the same issue, i don't know the reason behind it.But i haven't used "$URL_PREFIX" in the url that i am getting from a DCR.

A thought ::

Preview Level Scenario

It might be possible that at preview level the url point first to local server when we click the link.But if see source of html page that we are getting on preview of a page, we get url of the link same as mentioned in DCR like "www.google.com", but on mouseover on that link we get like "http://localserver/iw-cc/Site/Page/www.google.com" in the task bar of window, because my link currently request for this url on click,so it does'nt work and we get 404 error page,.

Runtime Scenario

At runtime,on click the request is being sent to application/web server (default is Tomcat)which forwards the request for the corresponding url.

Anyways,what happened really,i don't know this is only my understanding.

Kindly share the actual cause if you comes to know.

It looks like you could do some string manipulation of the URL in the component itself to solve the issue. I don't know if it actually worth the time to do this since it is just the preview environment though.
