Drag and Drop for File import in TeamSite

Hi,

I have a requirement where the client wants a drag and drop feature for the "file import". As far as I am aware TeamSite does not provide drag and drop.

Is there any workaround, 3rd party tools etc that can be used to implement this?

I believe this may be coming in the TS7.0 GUI - however, at this time I don't believe there's a target date (at least public) for when 7.0 will be released.

In the meantime - you can do it through the file system interface by mapping a drive to

//ts-server-name/IWSERVER

and then open up two Windows Explorer windows - one for where the files currently live, and one to the workarea in TeamSite where you want to put them, and you should be able to drag-n-drop that way.

You can use TeamSite Front Office which is good for drag drop operation.

Just to clarify - what is being requested here seems to be the drag and drop for "file import" and not just for moving or copying files within the repository from the UI.

In order to implement "drag and drop" file import, you'll either need to rely on ActiveX controls and IE events to make this work or you will have to use some elaborate windowing controls and events. Either ways, this is something we have looked into but havent really committed to the next release. Stay tuned and if we decide to include it, I'll be sure to keep this group updated..
