Creating SPAR (Site Publisher Archive) file

Hi Friends,
I gone through SPAR term (Site Publisher Archive). It is used in migrating component/template. But there is no any related topic regarding SPAR in livesite docs. While searching in Forum, i found in a thread that there is a Site Publisher Archive Manager for creating a SPAR file. But i do not find any such tool in Site Publisher.
So, if you know about how to create a SPAR file then please share it.

You can just use the iw-home/tools/java/bin/jar to create a jar file, then rename it to have the spar extension. If you want to expand the spar files from the iw-home/install directory, you can just use
jar xvf filename.spar.

It means there is no any such tool (Archive Manager).
We have to manage the component/template and its related file i.e java classes and config file into a .jar file then rename to .spar then through "archive_install.ipl" install it into "spars" branch.

Yea, there is no automatic ways of just creating the spar files into the branch you want. It can be done easily with a little script. You can actually just use jar and jar up the components file by specifying the spar extension. No need to rename.

First you should copy all the required assets and file in a directory based on below structure:
All workarea files copy to "workarea_root" folder.
All component files copy to "component" folder.
All template files copy to "template" folder.
And so on..

Now go to the base directory and of given folder structure and run below command:
jar -cvf mytest.spar .

Make sure your jdk_home/bin in environment path variable.
