Deployment Average data rate is very low

TS 6.5 SP3
OD 6.0.2 Base
OD 5.6 receiver

We are facing this issue from last month now although it is intermittent. We have configured Submit, unlock and deploy workflow for a workarea in TeamSite. Each Submit tasks initiates a deployment job. The issue is some times the deployment take long time to complete with data rate of deployment is as low as 1kbps(as seen from Admin UI). This results in large number of deployments getting queued and result in overall slowness of the receiver and TS server. We then have to restart base and receiver services to resolve this.

I know we should be upgrading our receiver servers but that is still in pipeline Smiley Sad

I have checked with our network teams and they didnt find any issue as far as network is concerned. Doesnt seem to be like a port issue either as deployment would have failed then.

Can any one suggest on this? Is there any thing which we need to check on receiver end?

we initiate the deployment using iwodstart.bat rather than iwodcmd. Is this the most possible reason for this? Althought this issue wasnt faced before.

PS: This workarea has most user activity .

Hey,

For deployment slow down...there are many things come into picture for this...which depends on the what environment do you have setup and how configuration have done at your end.

Anyways as per information you have provided. Firstly ..better to go upgradation.

Secondly check with eventReporting , if not in use comment it out from adminEventReportingConfig.xml as the listener that is going unused anyway and is consumming resources.

Also as you are using "iwodstart" CLT

OpenDeploy will start a Java Virtual Machine (JVM). Each JVM consumes a large amount of memory and system resources, slowing down the system.

Each OpenDeploy CLT (iwodstart, iwodsched, etc.) launches in a new JVM.

Which causes slow down.

If you use "iwodcmd" This command is a less resource intensive alternative to the Java-based command-line tool.

Suggest to go for use "iwodcmd" insted of "iwodstart"
