data Deploy | Storing Multi-select list values in separate rows

Hi,

I have a simple News DCT (News Title , News URL) with a multi-select list box(Territory List).

I have 2 database table:
Parent table (GWS_WEP_NEWS) : will store News title & News URL
Child table (WNTA_TERRITORY_NAME) : will store Territory for a news.

How do I write my dd cfg so that the values from multi-select list box goes to different rows on Child Table ?

I am using something like this:

<>list-to-replicant="yes" value-from-field="Territory/0/Selectlist/0/selectval"
list-field="Territory/0/TerritoryList" is-replicant="yes" allows-null="no" is-url="no"/>

The above tag is not coming properly in this post. Please refer to my dd cfg file attached.

I copied this from OD Manual.

I know for sure that we need to update the above part of data deploy cfg. Its little urgent. I am gated due to this issue.

If i donot include this feature than my DD is working fine
Its not working.

change your field to

[html]
[/html]

so it would look like:

[html]

[/HTML]

Also, I would swtich to XML style DCRs in general if your making new DCTs. but thats just me..

My problem got resolved. Thanks for your reponse. It was really helpful. I have a question: Could you please explain what does following means:

 

value-from-field="Territory/0/Selectlist/[0-10]/selectval"

1. Why do we have [0-10] ?
2. What is its significance ( 0-10) ?
3. Does this means that currently we can have only 11 values from multiselect box populated to database. My multiselect is dynamically populated, so it can have any number of values in list box (right now we have 59 values). Out of these value (59 values) user can select any number of value ( say 20 or 30 at one time) . Do I need to change [0-10] to something else

Its important for me to understand the details of these.

[0-10] (which was in my example) is the number of values you can have in your comma seperated list.. so yes, the max # of selected values..

so change it to [0-100] if you want.. if you start seeing deployment delays (which in your very simple DCR you should not), you can reduce that number to the real max # of available selected options.

in a very complex DataDeploy config, with many tables (and many levels of replicants), I would usually say try to keep that number closer to the accurate max.
