we have an existing TS application in 6.1 (Solaris 8)which was acutally migrated from TS 552.
We are using LDAP for authentication.

now we are going to migrate from TS 61 to TS 671 on Solaris 10.
our doubt is.Do we need to run accessmigrate or iwusersmigrate?

I believe the answer is "yes"

iwusermigrate should migrate the user information within the conf/*.uid files into the tsusers.xml file format.

iwaccessmigrate should (though not necessarily) associate the users with the appropriate roles on all the branches. In my experience, you generally end up using iwaccess to script this after the fact, but it's best to let iwaccessmigrate run once anyway as it may work, or may save you at least some of the time that would otherwise be spent running iwaccess and/or clicking on Add Users As Roles through the GUI.

I'm pretty sure that neither of these commands should hurt anything - so it's better to run them and then follow through with other commands as needed (IMO).

But we dint find any user names in uid files since we are using LDAP.
also we dont have tsldapuserscache.xml in 6.1
we want to know that if we run iwusermigrate command , will it take the details from the ldap server and update in the tsldapuserscache.xml?

Sorry - not sure, I haven't dealt much with this kind of implementation within an upgrade scenario. You should probably check with Support if you don't get any useful information here.

If users and roles are defined in the pre-6.7 release by .uid files in the
iw-home/conf/roles directory, that information is read and recorded in
iw-home/conf/roles/tsusers.xml in the 6.7 or later release. If users and roles are defined in LDAP (rather than in .uid files) in the pre-6.7 release, that information is read and recorded in iw-home/conf/roles/tsldapuserscache.xml in the 6.7 or later release. After TeamSite 6.7 or later is installed and started, this file is updated regularly based on the entries in LDAP.
