admin vs non-admin users
MIA_bedard
we notice that non-admin users have much slower response time than admin users in Media Bin. We are on 4.6.1, but also noticed this on earlier release. Is there anything we can do to improve the response time for non-admin users

The reason is your container structure and the permissions that you have on the top level containers.
If you are an admin user (MBPAdmins) you pretty much have a free pass and no permission checks happen. If you top level containers are too restricted (No Access) then MB will have to go to the next level to see if the user has permission and so on and so forth.
Typical suggestions:
- Reduce top level containers
- Open up top level containers (at least have List)

Thanks for the info.
We have 10 folders under Media Database.
Five of them have Read Everyone. (there may be some restrictions in subfolders) Five of them do have permissions only to specific individuals or groups, there is no Everyone Permission.
Would it help if we created a top level folder and moved the five restricted folders under one top level folder?

That might help. Do any of the restricted folders have "No Access" permission?
MIA_bedard
none of the restricted folders have "No Access" assigned in Permissions. They have only the groups or individuals who do have access, some read, some all.
