How will the user know which component to use for a specific web page, say home page. Is it by component name.

You could categorize them and sort them out in different directories. You could come up with some naming scheme. You could just have a directory with all homepage components and another directory with all landing page components. Keep in mind that you are limiting the component re-use to certain set of pages only. Usually this is not the best way to go. More or less user training / awareness would be the way to go.

thank you, if thats the case is there a default set of component to use for specific pages. or we can randomly choose whichever components we can use for our web page.

well when you defined what caomponent it is then you might have defined what it is meant for. It can have anything you have coded in your xslt.
One way to Have some distinguishing is to have a group which works on certain part of website say for example landing page, Have them in a group and assign login permissiosn to those components which are used by the group solely partaining to Landing.

It asll how you want to set it up in granularity.
